The former NBC Sports Washington anchor joined The Team 980/95.9FM’s Doc and Galdi Show Tuesday to tell Doc Walker all about her new gig.

“I’m taking on a leadership role as Senior Vice President of Media and Content,” Donaldson told Doc Walker. “To me that was a really big selling point because when I look at where I want to take my career, I want to take it into a leadership role. I want to take it into a place where I can make legit change and where I can listen to the people say ‘Ok let’s talk about this. Where are we at? Where do we need to go’?”

Donaldson also tells Doc about the responsibilities that come with the new job.

“I’m in charge of hosting Game Day so I have to hire a play-by-play and I’ll be hiring my analysts as well and putting together my crew that I trust, that I respect, and that we’re gonna have a lot fun with. This is going to be different than what you’ve heard before, and a lot of time people get a little nervous with change and they don’t necessarily like it, but I promise you’re going to get your football. You’re going to get the plays. You are going to get the game brought to you and you’re going to get it brought to you in a way that hasn’t been done before. We’re also going to be streaming it so people can pull it up on their phones, on their apps, on their televisions and be able to have the content that way.”

Donaldson will be replacing Larry Michael, the “Voice of the Redskins”, who re-signed  last Wednesday after 16 years with the team. His resignation came just a couple of days before a Washington Post report that accused him and a couple of other former Washington employees of sexual harassment.

In a statement released by the team, team owner Daniel Snyder calls Donaldson “a trailblazing journalist who has worked on multiple award-winning shows and has a passion for sports in the DMV.” Snyder also adds  that he “can’t think of anyone better” to lead the franchise’s broadcast operations.
