Media Reporter John Ourand of The Sports Business Journal joins The Kevin Sheehan Show to discuss what the television networks will do to fill the void and what’s the financial impact now that the coronavirus has brought the sports world to a grinding halt.

John explains how plans for networks to run classic games might not work out for channels like ESPN or Fox Sports 1 because other sports channels like the NFL Network or NBA Network actually hold the rights to these classic games. Also, debate shows like ESPN’s “First Take” have been put on hold because there are no games to debate.

Yesterday NCAA president Mark Emmert and the Board of Governors cancelled the Division I men’s and women’s 2020 basketball tournaments, as well as all remaining winter and spring NCAA championships.

Last night NBA commissioner Adam Silver appeared on “Inside The NBA” on TNT and said that the suspension of the NBA would most likely last for at least 30 days. So there is no definite answer to when we’ll get sports back on TV and what they’ll be broadcasting in place or sports…
