Al Galdi reacts to the news that Redskins Head Coach Ron Rivera has finally communicated with Trent Williams and apparently it was positive.

Yesterday we had multiple reports that Ron Rivera and Trent Williams had finally had communication. NFL insider Ian Rapoport of NFL Media reported that a positive conversation took place between Ron and Trent, who actually called back Ron.

Previously Ron Rivera discussed Trent Williams with Larry Michael during the week leading up to the Super Bowl saying, “our left tackle, what’s the health of Trent? We’re getting ready. We’re going to go through our process on the 10th. We’ll talk about it. We gotta get Trent in. We gotta sit him down. See where he is. See how he is health-wise, too. We have not really had the contact we need to have to know. So until we know…But he’s still our guy.”

Then early this week we got multiple reports that Redskins Cornerback Quinton Dunbar wanted to be traded or released.

ESPN Redskins insider John Keim and Redskins insider Kareem Copeland of The Washington Post reported that Dunbar had talked with the Redskins’ previous administration about an extension, but that per a source said there had been no contact with the Redskins since Ron was hired.

Redskins insider JP Finlay of NBC Sports Washington tweeted out comments from Dunbar, who said of Ron Rivera and his staff, “I don’t know them and they don’t know me. It is what it is.”

So Al Galdi is asking did Trent’s holdout at all influence Quinton Dunbar to attempt the power play that he’s currently attempting?
