Doc and Galdi discuss Maryland’s tough loss yesterday at Wisconsin. With the game on the line, Maryland struggled with their late game execution, which resulted in a gut-wrenching loss. Too many times has Maryland lost a game late in the Mark Turgeon era. To have so much talent and to be under-performing, people begin to question whether or not Turgeon is a good coach. Al Galdi compared Turgeon to Jay Gruden when it comes to coaching: not a bad coach, but not good enough. This was a big chance at a much needed win and the Terps come up short. Doc and Galdi also look at Maryland’s offense. The fact that Turgeon has athletes, guys that can get up and down the floor in a blur, but had 0 fast-break/transition points in yesterday’s game are signs that he is not coaching to his players’ strengths. With the loss, Maryland falls to 0-4 in true road games this season. They are at home this Saturday against Purdue, but then have two more road tests in Northwestern and Indiana.
