The Washington Wizards were among the many teams NBA Analysts predicted would move up in the Eastern Conference but after a 5-11 start, some are wondering about the teams future. Reports suggest that the franchise has given the rest of the league the “impression” that players are avilable for trades including All-Stars John Wall and Bradley Beal.
According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, while the Wizards prefer to build around Wall and Beal, poor play from their teammates are affecting their trade value.
One item that could be affecting trade value is the contract of Forward Otto Porter, Jr. Porter has three years left on his contract for $81 million left. Porter is averaging 10.6 points per game right now.
Wall’s contract extension starts in 2019-20 and will average $42 million annually for four years. What further complicates moving Wall is the inclusion of a 15 percent trade kicker in his deal.
